Welcome to Allsong Lagotto

Lynn and Simon have had dogs for thirty years or so. When our Border Terriers were getting a bit long in the tooth we came across the Lagotto at the Midland Game Fair at Weston Park. They looked to have character and were that bit different from the other popular curley coated dogs. They were also pure bred dogs. It must have been around a year later when we decided to find out more than we could find on the Internet. We went to Crufts to see if they were the size we remembered them and find out more from the owners. Later in the year we went to a Championship dog show near us and spoke to members of the Lagotto Romagnolo Club of Great Britain. We put our name on a waiting list and joined the club. It was in early 2018 we had a message that someone had two puppies available and we became the proud owners of Rosa, a beautiful orange and white puppy bitch.

We started showing Rosa at six months old. We hadn’t shown dogs before. She got best puppy in breed at her first show. Later she was placed third in her class at the Midland Counties Championship show. We didn’t know it at the time but she had qualified for Crufts! In March 2019 she got two 4th places at Crufts. By now we had taken to dog showing and subsequently had some reasonable success with her.

While showing we made friends with a number of Lagotto owners/showers including Lisa Mort. It was from Lisa we had our second Lagotto, Ricco.

We continued showing both dogs with good success in 2021 when dog shows started up again and with good success in 2022. It was in 2022 that we bred from our two and had a litter of seven puppies. We kept one, a bitch, Cielo, and showed her when she was old enough. She had great success as a puppy and especially as a junior. In 2024 she achieved five best bitch results at championship shows.
